Writer

When I write, I explore what’s on my mind, hoping to connect with someone.

Published work - Fiction

Fiction is my escape, and my catharsis; a way to explore the world we live in, and the many possible futures.

My first published piece Destiny’ is a fictionalised version of my experience of an abusive relationship, which helped me to deal with the memories of that experience. Other pieces, such as Not Like Them have allowed me to explore dystopian fiction, which has always been a favourite genre of mine.

Published work - Non-Fiction

I use narrative non-fiction to explore ideas and issues that are near to my heart, to chronicle life experiences, and to try to foster understanding.

Her Legs is an account of the weeks leading up to my grandmother’s death, and helped me to process the feelings I had around that loss.

More than a Word examines my relationship with the word ‘Pride’ as a queer woman who came out in her late 20s.

And Neither Fish nor Flesh explores my sense of dual identity around being from one place, and sounding like I’m from another.

Eight Years and Counting

In 2020, after eight and half years of pain and other symptoms, I was finally diagnosed with endometriosis. On my blog, I discuss the realities of living with endometriosis, as well as navigating the healthcare system as a queer woman.
