Eight Years and Counting

Endometriosis is a chronic health condition that can affect anyone with a uterus*. It is ridiculously under-diagnosed - it is estimated that 1 in 10 people in the UK who have a uterus have the condition, and that the average time to diagnosis from onset of symptoms is 7.5 years.

It took a bit longer for me.

Eight Years and Counting is my chronicle of my experience of the condition, how it interacts with my mental health conditions, and the pitfalls of navigating the health system as a queer woman.

*EYaC aims to be an inclusive blog. Much of the literature around endometriosis only names women as people who are affected when trans men, non-binary and agender folk (among others) can also be affected.
